BEST OF DANIEL SCHIFFER
PizzaCommercial for PICO
PICo is a pizzeria in New York and Daniel Schiffer was asked to do a commercial for their company. Little did he know that this would become his most popular video he would make.
Stop Motion
This video was much more informal but direct at the same time. He uses stop motion (which is a filmmaking technique that requires you to take multiple mages of a subject and make it move around in post.)
Probe Lens
In this video Daniel bought a lens for his E- Mount Sony A7 III called the PROBE lens. This lens allows you to go inside of objects otherwise impossible with a bulky lens. No commercial was filmed in this case.
HIS WAYS
Daniel Schiffer shoots on an A7 III and shoots on the manual setting all the time. He shoots in picture profile (PP) 3 to get a flat image because he always adds LUT's (look up table), which is basically a colour preset that can either be bought or created manually. His shutter speed is double his frame-rate to assure depth of field (which means there is a nice blurry background behind the subject). Those were his Camera settings which may change depending on the light conditions he is in but he usually shoots with artificial lights anyway which means these settings are good for most his projects.

HIS CAMERA MOVEMENTS
Daniel Schiffers camera movements are very unique as he follows the subject he is filming with the camera in a very quick but understandable way.. One of his most famous camera movements is called the 'slide', the slide is used all the time by him. That is when he slides the camera forward, backwards, left and right depending on where the knife moves. For example, if a knife moves forwards, towards the camera, the camera moves backwards.

The second most popular camera movement that Daniel Schiffer performs that he does almost every shoot is called the ' FPV'. This is where Daniel follows the actors hands wherever they go and whatever they pick up. This is a really hard movement to do even though Daniel knows the actions that the actor is going to make. I also wanted to mention that Daniel does not use many gimbals. He usually only shoots handheld. That, for a filmmaker is uncommon sadly, He only uses gimbals if he ever has to run, walk or to perform camera movements that are not possible with the human hands.

It is not all camera movements that make his movies absolutely amazing. Most of it is slight of hand. For example, there was one movie he made where he had to get a snowboard out of it's box that it was shipped in. 1 person held the back of the box sideways (he was not in the frame).
